Some may say that Vegeta only wanted to surpass Goku, and he sacrificed his evil and ruthlessness in order to settle down. Perhaps that was true, until the Cell Games, anyway. Goku was always an altruistic person: protecting and sacrificing himself for the sake of others, if he had to. 
 There and then, when Vegeta knew he couldn’t outright beat Majin Buu, he realised what it takes to truly be strong. Power should not only exist to intimidate others and keep people under your rule.
Power and strength exists and should only be used for the sake of protecting the powerless, not simply for personal gain.  To truly be a warrior … no. To truly be a hero, to fight for others and a cause you believe in … I believe this is an underlying ideology that you should strive to uphold and keep in mind if you seek greatness.
